An experienced residential and commercial real estate lawyer, Jessie is based in our firm's Burlington office. She represents clients throughout Ontario. Jessie's practice is based on ensuring her clients always receive timely advice and that any concerns are resolved quickly. She understands that each transaction – whether residential or commercial – is of immense importance to her clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Jessie practiced in an extremely high-volume and quick-paced residential real estate law firm for over five years. As such, Jessie has extensive experience with both resale home transactions and brand new home/condominium purchases and sales. She is particularly experienced in reviewing Agreements of Purchase and Sale for brand new house and condominium purchases, and reviewing Status Certificates, to ensure Buyers are aware of any and all issues around any transaction before the Agreements are firm and binding.
In the commercial real estate sector, clients rely on Jessie's blend of real estate knowledge and business skills. Jessie's expertise allows her to provide clients with the full suite of commercial real estate law services. This work ranges from performing title searches and obtaining off-title searches such as corporate profile reports and certificate of statuses, to tax certificates, zoning compliance, and confirmation of any work orders or outstanding permits which need to be rectified before closing. In addition, Jessie is experienced in dealing with commercial lenders and their lawyers directly, and is adept in reviewing all documents provided by the lender’s lawyer and/or other party’s lawyers for signature.
Jessie has developed a wide network of trusted professionals in other sectors. As a result, Jessie is able, when requested by clients, to offer a full-service approach to their real estate transactions.
Jessie completed her Bachelor of Laws Degree at the University of Manitoba and was subsequently called to the Bar in Ontario in 2011. Prior to law school, Jessie earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics with a minor in Aboriginal Studies from Carleton University.
